Transformers - Ultimate Optimus Prime

We received the Ultimate Optimus Prime as part of the toys R us Toyologist program.

This is a Huge Optimus prime, it is one of the largest Transformers. Priced at around £79.99 it is also one of the most expensive. For the money however you really do receive a lot of details and a really high quality transformer, which has 3 modes to transform into.

As with all the Transformers in the Mechtech range this transformer has an age rating of 5+ however this transformer has a difficulty rating of 3 which means expert, and that is exactly right this is very difficult to transform but you are rewarded in a  highly detailed Optimus Prime in both robot mode or as a Truck. Also this Ultimate Optimus Prime when Transformed has the cabin and the trailer, which is a great feature as most Optimus Prime Transformers do not have the trailer feature.

With the Ultimate Optimus Prime you also receive a huge Mechtech weapon which has several sounds and light which activate when you connect the weapon onto the several places of the Robot mode or the Truck mode, also the main feature of the Mechtech weapons they can connect together with other Transformer weapons in the series.

As this is a extremely detailed transformer which is very difficult to Transform, I personally think it is best suited to the older age range, who would truly appreciate all its features and attention to detail, however it does have so much to offer I'm sure any Transformer fan would love to see this under the Christmas tree this year, it is sure to be something that Dads will have as much enjoyment out of as well, as they will no doubt be needed to help with the Transforming.

Here is my video Review comparing the different Transformers in the Mechtech range.

Transformer - Mechtech Bumblebee Leader

We received the Transformer Bumblebee MechTech Leader as part of the Toys R us Toyologist Program.

This Bumblebee is normally priced around £44.99 and is one of the largest bumblebees in the transformer mechtech range.

Compared to the smaller bumblebee we have reviewed (review found here) This bumblebee has alot more detail and features for the price increase.

The Bumblebee Leader transformer is stated as age 5 + the same as all the other transformers in the MechTech range, however this Bumbebee is much harder to transform and is in my opinion more suited for the older age range, maybe the 8 and above.

The mechtech features as with the other transformers relate to the weapons which connect to other weapons in the range, however unlike the cheaper priced transformers in the mechtech series the mechtech weapon with this Bumblebee has the added feature of lights and sounds. (batteries come included)

This is a highly detailed Transformer which would be well appreciated by all older transformer fans, and collectors, my 9 year old still needs to check with the instructions to transform this Bumblebee but the sense of achievement is higher when he does complete thee transformation, my younger 4 year old loves the mechtech weapon with the sounds and lights, but really the smaller cheaper transformer is more suited to his age range.

Transformer - Mechtech - OptimusPrime

As part of the Toys R us toyologist Program we received 4 Mechtech Dark of the Moon Transformers to review.

Transformers are set to be on a lot of childrens Christmas Lists this year, but with there being a huge price range it's difficult to know which ones will be well recieved  and what do you get for your money.

We were sent the Voyager Optimus Prime which is priced at £21.99

This transformer is classed as level 2 in the difficulty rating and is in the 5+ price bracket.
My 9 year old son managed to transform this optimus Prime easily after following the instructions a couple of times.

It transformers into the front section of the truck and is highly detailed figure.

The MechTech features are the weapons which are all interchangeable with other figures in the mechtech range, which is great of you ar eplanning on collecting the range, however if you are purchasing this as a one of the feature won't mean much to you.

We have had this transformer for several months now and it has become a firm favourite to my elder son, he can easily transform it and it has withstanded lots of play by him and his 4 year old brother so the durability is good.

I would deffinately recommend this for any transformer fan.

Transformer - MechTech Bumblebee

We received several Transformers from the Dark Of The moon Mech Tech range as part of the Toys R us Toyologist program to review.

The series of toys are set to be very popular this year with a lot of children, but the price range of these toys is quite large, so what do you get for your money?

I am going to be doing a review of the 4 figures we received which range in price from £12.99 right up to the Ultimate Optimus Prime Priced at £79.99

The first in the series of reviews is the Bumblebee figure priced  priced at £12.99

The whole mechtech range state they are suitable for 5+ age range, this Bumblebee is a perfect addition to a transformer collection for the younger fans, my 4 year old absolutely loves this transformer, and can transform him to some extent by himself, my 9 year old can easily transform this figure.

The MechTech features are the weapons, which all are interconectable. This Bumblebee comes with a small weapon which has a pop out feature when you press on certain sections of it, however what the MechTech range does is allows you to build up a bigger weapon when you connect up weapons from different sets together. So if you are looking for a one off purchase this feature isn't going to be of much interest, but if you are collecting the whole range then the interchangeable weapons adds to the interactiveness of these toys.

The detail on this smaller Bumblebee is not as high as some of the other transformers in the higher price range, but certainly good enough to have a good likeness to the movie heros.

We have had this transformer for several months now and it has been played with a huge amount by both my 4 year old and my 9 year old, we have had no broken parts yet  so the durability seems good.

This certainly would be a great  toy for any transformer fan, compared to the higher priced range I would say these £12.99 priced figures are the best for the younger fans, as the transforming is much easier.

Great comfy clothes!

We are not the most fashion conscious family, and I'm one of them people who tends to wear and wear and wear the same clothes over and over, luckily for me my boys follow my thinking and clothes which are comfy and hard wearing always go down a treat with them, if they can relax comfortably on the sofa or climb a tree without them ripping and still keeping them warm, then they get the thumbs up from them, Chloe however is getting more and more into fashion and often tells me she's not wearing that! when I pull out some crumpled jeans from the bottom of the washing pile and a strecthed jumper, she seems to have pretty good fashion sense, she will happy go off to her wardrobe and pick out an outfit which seems to match so well

So with this in mind its getting quite difficult to find her clothes they have to be long lasting and wash well to keep me happy... and  look good enough to please a 8 year old!

So when Boden offered to send me some clothes to review I couldn't wait to receive them!

We received 3 tops from the Mini Boden range, which is a lovely range of clothes and has something which would surely suit everyone.

I spent quite some time looking through their range of clothes before decided on which items to pick to review, The range of boys clothes is great they do  a great selection of trousers and jeans, in some really funky colours and designs which look just perfect for active boys, there is also a lovely range of knitwear I was literally spoilt for choice! However after lots of debating I finally settled on a Long Sleeved T.shirt with a great monster design for Mikey, the range of T.Shirts included some lovely bright colours and bold designs which really do make a statement, along with some plain and stripy designs which are better if you want slightly less of an impact.

The Monster T.Shirt we picked was the lovely green colour with a bold yellow monster in the center, the fun character was right up Mikeys street and matches his cheeky personality perfectly, there are several other monster designs in the Mini Boden range which I will be adding to our Christmas list!

The T.Shirt is100% cotton and is beautifully soft and warm, the quality is exceptional, and washed really well, the transfer is of a high standard and even after a few washes still is bold and bright.
we picked a aged 5-6 and it fits Mikey (who's 4) perfectly and will most likely last him until next year which is great.

For Jake we decided on a stripey long sleeved top, described on the website as a reversible cozy cotton waffle top. We went for the Tomato and Mud colours, the colours are great for active boys who don't want to be bothered about the scuffs and marks they always pick up! we picked size 9 -10 and this fits Jake (who's 9) really well.

The top is thicker than the monster T shirt and is so very cozy and has become Jakes firm favourite, a really lovely  top for the Autumn and winter months, again the quality is amazing and it has washed really well.

The girls range includes some equally lovely items, again their range of trousers and jeans has some dazzling colour designs sure to take trendy girls fancy I really loved the Hooded top range, which included some lovely hooded top dresses which looked perfect for the winter season. For Chloe we went for Shaggy Lined Pink Spotty top this is a truly lovely top,  which has become a firm favourite. It literally goes with everything and is so warm and snugly it can be used as a jacket on mild days or under a coat on really cold days, it is perfect for snuggling up with on the sofa, and great for grabbing as you dash off for a bike ride.

A firm must have in everyones wardrobe and I will definitely be buying more in this range!  It is a cotton and polyester mix, and it has washed equally as well as the boys T. shirts. we went for aged 9 -10 because Chloe (who's 8) is rather tall for her age and this fits her lovely, and again will last her until next year.

If you are looking for stylish and great quality children's clothing then you will be impressed with the range at Boden, so be sure to check out their website here : Boden Clothing

Boden don't only do clothes for the children, they have recently launched their winter maternity range, be sure to check that out here: Maternity wear
